At the Law Offices of David D. Welch, we have been providing legal services to individuals and businesses throughout South Florida for over 36 years. Our founder, David Welch, began his professional career as an officer in the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General's Corps ("Navy JAG"), where he served as a prosecutor, defense counsel, and military judge. Following 4 years of active duty, Mr. Welch remained in Navy JAG as a reservist, where he rose to the rank of Captain and was appointed as an Appellate Judge on the Navy-Marine Corps Criminal Court of Appeals, Washington, D.C.
As a lawyer in private practice, Mr. Welch has represented individual, governmental, and corporate clients in state and federal courts in litigation involving such diverse areas as real estate, corporate and business disputes, securities law violations, personal injury, product liability, eminent domain, construction liens, construction defects, condominium and homeowner association issues, banking law, professional disciplinary cases (including Florida Bar grievance matters), state and federal class actions, including multi-district and national cases.
A leader in his profession, Mr. Welch has served as President of the Broward County Bar Association, President of the Broward County Trial Lawyers Association, Governor, The Florida Bar Board of Governors, Member of the Executive Committee of The Florida Bar, Chairman of The Florida Bar Technology Task Force, Bar Grievance Committee Reviewing Authority, Chairman of Disciplinary Procedures, Program Evaluation, and numerous other Florida Bar committees, Fellow, Florida Bar Foundation.
Mr. Welch has been recognized by his peers with the highest rating for professional ability and ethics, the prestigious "AV" rating awarded by Martindale-Hubbell, a rating he has held for over 30 years.
